Very Blue Quartet
Four brilliant musicians, a daring jazz: tradition and modernity intertwine in every note of the Very Blue Quartet.
On Thursday 5 November 2026 at 19:30, Very Blue Quartet plays at Le Melville (75008 Paris).
Checked on 26 October 2026.
Overview
Four brilliant musicians, a daring jazz: tradition and modernity intertwine in every note of the Very Blue Quartet.
Four brilliant musicians and an inspired double bassist: Jean Bardy returns with Au Café des Anges, ten years after his duo with Hungarian pianist Emil Spanyi on Very Blue.
This time, he takes us on as a quartet… and as a quintet on two pieces, with the magical touch of accordionist Marc Berthoumieux. Jean Bardy weaves a universe where jazz converses naturally with his first loves, rock and folk, all running through with some lovely bluesy colours.
On the programme: energy, swing, but also a great deal of finesse.
There are superb double bass intros, warm sonorities that envelop you, a touch of melancholy that passes through at times… and above all the simple, infectious pleasure of playing together, which can be heard in every note.
