4 brilliant musicians, an inspired bassist: Jean Bardy returns with At Café des Anges, ten years after his duo with Hungarian pianist Emil Spanyi on Very Blue. This time, he takes us in quartet… and in quintet on two pieces, with accordionist Marc Berthoumieux's magical touch.
Jean Bardy weaves a universe where jazz naturally dialogues with his first loves rock-folk, all traversed by some beautiful bluesy colors. On the program: energy, swing, but also much finesse.
You hear superb bass intros, warm sonorities that envelop, a touch of melancholy passing through moments… and especially that simple and contagious pleasure of playing together, heard in each note.
