This is what Jacques Puech and Yann Gourdon invite us to explore: plunging into traditional musics, viewing them as living, shifting, open materials. Between cabrette, hurdy-gurdy, voice, drones, and electronics, their music carves out repetitive, hypnotic, and profoundly physical landscapes. Here, traditions are not set in stone: they become a terrain for exploration, a space of trance, vibration, and listening.

He works with sound and vibrations as musical materials in their own right, exploring how they interact with a space, an architecture, or a landscape. Here, this is not a question of an event between spectators and a musician, but rather about subjecting a space to a process. The zone as a new possible place in which the relationships between listener and space are altered, like the ferryman who must first throw a pebble to cross the field. A bounded landscape.

JACQUES PUECH – LA LENHA (cabrette, voice)

Jacques Puech explores a minimal and profoundly living form of traditional musics. In this solo, the aim is to seek a simple expression of traditional musics. Singing or playing tunes for what they are, simply accompanied by drones or foot-tapping. Between melody, resonance, and drone, his music blurs boundaries and transforms traditional forms into a hypnotic and immersive experience.
