About — The artist
A La Carte is a pop-disco girl group formed in 1978 and based in Germany, founded by producers Tony Hendrik and Karin Hartmann along with three British women, Patsy Fuller, Julia, and Elaine. Their debut single, When the Boys Come Home, was released in March 1979 and earned them great popularity in Germany following a performance on the TV show Musikladen.
The group experienced frequent line-up changes, with Jenny Renshaw becoming the only permanent member from October 1979 onwards. The album Viva was released in 1981 featuring Jenny Renshaw, Linda Daniels, and Joy Martin, followed in 1982 by the album Rockin' Oldies, consisting of 1960s cover versions. The group split up in 1984, with the final line-up comprising Jenny Renshaw, Joy Martin, and Katie Humble.
