ABBA

ABBA, often stylized as AꓭBA, is a Swedish pop band originating from Stockholm. Formed on November 1, 1971, the group originally consisted of Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad. At their formation, they were two married couples: Agnetha and Björn, Frida and Benny. The band's name is both an acronym and a palindrome, composed of the initials of the members' first names. From 1976, the ambigram — AᗺBA, with an inverted B — was used as the logo.

Winners of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with Waterloo, ABBA achieved worldwide success during the disco era of the mid-1970s. They became one of the best-selling groups, with estimated sales of 400 million (including 180 million certified sales). They enjoyed success in Australia and worldwide comparable to Beatlemania.

Broken up since 1982, ABBA announced in late April 2018 that its members had reunited in summer 2017 to record two new songs as part of their upcoming album. The latter, their ninth, titled Voyage, was released on November 5, 2021. The clips from the new album do not feature the singers. Since May 27, 2022, they have been performing in a specially constructed venue in London, where their "avatars" (called ABBA-tars on this occasion) previously filmed with motion capture technology appear on stage as holograms with their faces and outfits from 1979, the idea being for them to let their fans experience what they once knew.
