About — The artist
Ary Abittan, born January 31, 1974 in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, is a French comedian and actor.
He began his stage career in 1998 and gained particular recognition with his one-man shows À la folie, pas du tout (2009) and My Story in 2017. In cinema, he achieved major success through his role as David Benichou in Philippe de Chauveron's film series Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?, as well as his appearances in the films Coco in 2009 and Deux gens très pressés in 2011. He is also a regular guest on comedy television shows such as Vendredi tout est permis on TF1.
He was formally investigated for rape in 2021 and received a dismissal of charges in 2024, which was confirmed in 2025. From 2024 onwards, several performances of his new show, Authentique, in which he notably addresses this matter, have been met with protests from feminist collectives. Brigitte Macron has expressed her support for him.
