Autechre

Autechre is an English electronic music duo made up of Rob Brown and Sean Booth, both from Rochdale in Greater Manchester. Formed in 1987, Autechre is among the main representatives of the British Warp Records label, on which all its albums have been released, starting with Incunabula in 1993. The duo first gained attention with its appearance on Artificial Intelligence, a 1992 compilation released by Warp.

Influenced by styles such as electro, hip-hop, acid house and concrete music, Autechre's music evolved over time: characterized by melodic techno at first, it is often considered later as abstract and experimental, with production generated by complex algorithms and few stylistic conventions. Autechre's works are most often associated with the electronic music genre called intelligent dance music (IDM).
