About — The artist
Boston is an American hard rock band originating from Boston, Massachusetts. It was formed in 1976 by Tom Scholz alongside singer Brad Delp.
The group's debut album, titled Boston, was released in 1976 and recorded in Tom Scholz's personal studio by himself and Brad Delp. It ranks among the ten best-selling albums in the United States with 17 million copies sold. This success is due in part to the quality of the compositions. The guitar riff from the track More than a feeling notably inspired the band Nirvana for their biggest hit Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain having been a fan of Boston during his adolescence).
The success of Boston is also attributed to their sound and arrangements, which were way ahead of their time, not to mention the exceptional voice of Brad Delp, nicknamed "The man with the golden voice".
