About — The artist
Carmen Maria Hillestad, born in 1983 in Michigan and known under the name Carmen Villain, is a Norwegian-Mexican music artist raised in Oslo. After a modelling career, she moved to London in 2005 and began composing music, initially oriented towards shoegaze and dream pop. Her album Only Love From Now On was released in 2022 and received a positive critical reception.
