About — The artist
Käfig (meaning 'the cage' in German) is a dance company created in 1996, still under the artistic direction of hip-hop and contemporary dance choreographer and dancer Mourad Merzouki. It showcases creations inspired by the language of urban dance and hip-hop, while also embracing other choreographic and artistic languages. 40 pieces have been created, seen by more than 2 million spectators across 4,000 performances in France and 65 countries worldwide.
Over four days during the 2024 Olympic Games at the Parc des Champions at the Trocadéro, in front of the Eiffel Tower, the Käfig company, with 30 dancers and street artists, took part in four days of performances of Trokad'héros before 55,000 spectators.
