Dany Boon (/da.ni bun/), born Daniel Farid Hamidou, is a French actor, comedian, director, screenwriter, and producer born on 26 June 1966 in Armentières (Nord).
Revealed on stage as a comedian during the 1990s, Dany Boon achieved immense commercial success in 2008 as an actor, director, and producer of the popular comedy Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis, which garnered 26,700,012 admissions worldwide, surpassing the number of admissions for La Grande Vadrouille (1966), and 20,489,303 admissions in France, making it the best result for a French film at the national box office, and the second overall, just behind Titanic (1998).
Since then, he has continued to make successful popular films as a screenwriter, director, and producer, such as Rien à déclarer (2010), Supercondriaque (2014), Raid dingue (2017), and La Ch'tite Famille (2018).
He also pursues an acting career under the direction of renowned French filmmakers such as Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Danièle Thompson, Pascal Chaumeil, Julie Delpy, and Yvan Attal.
