About — The artist
Edward "Ed" John O'Brien, a British musician born on 15 April 1968 in Oxford, is the guitarist for the band Radiohead.
He is considered one of the best modern guitarists and was even ranked 28th best guitarist of all time by Gibson.com. Rolling Stone magazine successively ranked him 59th, just ahead of his bandmate Jonny Greenwood, then 43rd.
Thom Yorke, the band's frontman, wanted him to join the group because he thought he was cool and looked like Morrissey, but also, as he explained, due to the musical tastes the two men shared. His father is the band's most fervent and longest-standing fan.
Ed O'Brien is a big football fan, especially of Manchester United. He also holds a degree in economics from the University of Manchester.
