About — The artist

Garou, whose real name is Pierre Garand, born on 26 June 1972 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, is a Quebecois singer and actor.

He began his career in France by playing the character of Quasimodo in the musical Notre-Dame de Paris in 1998. Then, in 2000, he started a solo career with the album Seul. In total, he has released nine studio albums and one live solo album.

In addition to his solo career, he has been a regular member of the Enfoirés troupe since 1999 (except in 2011, from 2014 to 2015, from 2018 to 2021, and from 2024 to 2026). From 2012 to 2014, and again in 2016, he was a coach on the show The Voice, la plus belle voix in France, and was so in 2018 and 2020 for the show La Voix in Quebec.

He is making his return to television for the eighth season of Quebec's Star Académie in winter 2024, in the role of academy director.
