Ismaël Saidi, born on September 20, 1976, in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Belgium, is a Belgian French-speaking director, screenwriter, and playwright. Following the 2015 attacks, particularly against Charlie Hebdo, this director, who was barely known in Belgian cinema, was regularly approached for questions related to terrorism. It was his play Djihad, extensively performed for school audiences, that brought him to prominence.
