Jean-Paul Rouve is a French actor and director, born on 26 January 1967 in Malo-les-Bains (Nord).
He came to wider public attention with the comedy troupe Les Robins des Bois during the 1990s.
He rose to prominence during the 2000s as a recurring supporting player in French cinema, across different genres. He won the César Award for Most Promising Actor in 2003 for his performance in the historical drama Monsieur Batignole, by Gérard Jugnot, then was nominated for the César Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2005 for his portrayal of a Michel Polnareff lookalike in the comedy Podium, by Yann Moix. In 2006, he played a summer camp director in the comedy Nos jours heureux, by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, before playing Louis Gassion in the biopic La Môme (2007), by Olivier Dahan.
During the 2010s, he became particularly known for the role of Jeff Tuche in the successful Les Tuche comedy series directed by Olivier Baroux. He has also pursued a career as a director of more dramatic films, with Quand je serai petit (2012), Les Souvenirs (2014) and Lola et ses frères (2018).
