About — The artist
Jean-Paul Rouve is a French actor and director, born on January 26, 1967, in Malo-les-Bains (Nord).
He rose to public prominence as part of the comedy troupe Les Robins des Bois during the 1990s.
He gained notoriety in the 2000s as a recurring supporting actor in French cinema, across various genres. He won the César for Most Promising Actor in 2003 for his performance in the historical drama Monsieur Batignole, directed by Gérard Jugnot, and was then nominated for the César for Best Supporting Actor in 2005 for his portrayal of a Michel Polnareff look-alike in the comedy Podium, directed by Yann Moix. In 2006, he played a summer camp director in the comedy Nos jours heureux, by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, before embodying Louis Gassion in the biographical film La Môme (2007), by Olivier Dahan.
During the 2010s, he primarily established himself in the role of Jeff Tuche, in the successful comedy series Les Tuche directed by Olivier Baroux. He also pursued a career as a director of films with a more dramatic sensibility, with Quand je serai petit (2012), Les Souvenirs (2014), and Lola et ses frères (2018).
