La Rumeur

La Rumeur is a French hip-hop group composed of Ékoué, Hamé, Le Bavar, Mourad, and two DJs, Soul G and Kool M. They hail from Élancourt and Maurepas in the Yvelines region, and, in Hamé's case, from Perpignan.

From the 1st instalment (1997) to Du Cœur à l'Outrage (2007), La Rumeur went against the usual patterns dictated by the music industry, which typically involve releasing a single, an album, then going on tour. Their discography is structured on a triptych basis, as chronologically released: three instalments which are the solos of each rapper, except for the 3rd Instalment which brings together La Figure de Paria and Le Bavar (maxi); and three albums. All of this was interspersed with several small tours. During the concert at Le Trabendo for La Rumeur's 10th anniversary, Ekoué announced that, buoyed by their success, the group was preparing a forthcoming trilogy. They organised another series of concerts for the group's 20th anniversary in 2015.

Since 2011, the group has been exploring other creative formats, with the publication of short and feature films and books.
