About — The artist

Soprano, real name Saïd M'Roumbaba, born on January 14, 1979, in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), is a French-Comorian rapper, singer-songwriter, television host, and actor.

He began his rap career in 1995 with the group Psy 4 de la rime, which he formed with his cousin Alonzo and childhood friend Sya Styles.

In 2007, he launched his solo career with the album Puisqu'il faut vivre, which was certified gold in two and a half months and earned him the award for best urban music artist at the Trophées des arts afro-caribéens. This was followed by two more opuses: La Colombe (2010) and Le Corbeau (2011).

In 2014, his fourth solo album, Cosmopolitanie, featuring the hits Cosmo, Clown, Fresh Prince, and Millionnaire, was certified platinum in a few weeks. He made a pop-rap shift, which the singer confirmed in the opuses L'Everest (2016, including En feu), Phœnix (2018), Chasseur d'étoiles (2021), and Freedom (2024-2025, in three parts).

In cinema, he is featured in the comedy Marius et les gardiens de la cité phocéenne by Tony Datis, released in 2025.
