About — The artist
Lorànt Deutsch, born 27 October 1975 in Alençon, is a French actor, presenter and writer.
He began acting as a teenager, then gained recognition by appearing in films such as Le Ciel, les Oiseaux et... ta mère!, Ripoux 3 and Trois Zéros.
He is also known for publishing several popular-history books on the history of France, including Métronome: l'histoire de France au rythme du métro parisien, published in 2009 (his biggest success, with almost 2 million copies sold worldwide), and Hexagone in 2013. Historians such as Aurore Chéry and William Blanc have criticised his books for their inaccuracies and ideological bias.
