About — The artist
LSD and the Search for God is an American shoegazing band from San Francisco, California.
Formed in 2005 by Andy Liszt (guitar and vocals), Sophia Campbell (vocals), and Chris Fifield (guitar), as well as numerous recurring or guest artists.
The band's name comes from the book The Private Sea: LSD and the Search for God by American author William Braden. They gained popularity after the release of their self-titled debut EP on the Mind Expansion label. After selling out, the EP was reissued on vinyl the following year on the Deep Space Recordings label. In 2016, they released their latest EP to date titled Heaven is a Place.
However, the band remains active and has garnered a loyal following. Andy Liszt (guitar) uses a Marshall Shredmaster distortion pedal.
