Orchestra Baobab is a Senegalese music group. It was formed in the 1970s and, after a long hiatus, reconnected with international success in the early 2000s. Its musical style is characterised by a blend of Latin rhythms (notably Cuban), African sounds (Wolof and Serer chants, Casamance harmonies, traditional Sub-Saharan African or Maghrebi melodies) and soul or jazz influences.
