Bona Penda Nya Yuma Elolo, better known as Richard Bona, is a Cameroonian-American singer and bassist, born on 28 October 1967 in Minta (Cameroon).
He began his career as an instrumentalist in Paris, then moved to New York. He has been performing and recording as a solo artist since 1999. In 2004, he was awarded at the Victoires du jazz. The following year, his album Tiki was nominated for Grammy Awards. In 2012, Richard Bona received the Grand Prize for jazz from Sacem.
