Tinie Tempah, born Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu on 7 November 1988 in Plumstead (United Kingdom), is an English rapper, singer, and singer-songwriter. He has been signed to Parlophone Records since 2009, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group. He founded his own label, Disturbing London Records, in 2007 with his cousin, Dumi Oburota.
After releasing a number of mixtapes, he released his debut album, Disc-Overy, in October 2010. Following two number-one singles in the UK, Pass Out and Written in the Stars, the album topped the charts and was certified Platinum the following year. In February 2011, he won two Brit Awards.
In November 2013, he released his second album, entitled Demonstration. After the singles Trampoline and Children of the Sun charted in the top 10, the album reached number three on the charts and was certified Gold by the BPI in 2014 [insufficient source].
In June 2015, he released Not Letting Go, the first single from his third album Youth. Tinie Tempah thus achieved his sixth number-one single in the UK, surpassing Dizzee Rascal in the rap artist category. His latest album, Youth, was released in April 2017.
