About — The artist
Tumulus is a Russian progressive folk metal band hailing from Yaroslavl. Formed from the ashes of the cult doom and viking metal band Scald following the death of their vocalist Agyl, the group moved away from Scald's doom roots right from the start to lean towards folk metal. They thus combine metal music with traditional Russian folk, incorporating instruments such as the flute, tambourine and balalaika.
