Cartilage

Cartilage is a flexible connective tissue sometimes elastic found in animals in various types throughout the body, including on the surface of joints between bones and in the rib cage, ear, nose, bronchi, or intervertebral discs. Cartilage is made of rounded-shaped cells, chondrocytes, enclosed in spaces called chondroplasts within an extracellular matrix composed of glycosaminoglycans and collagen.
