About — The venue

The Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine is a public industrial and commercial establishment (EPIC), overseen by the Ministry of Culture. Its mission is to promote French architecture and built heritage, in France and abroad, and to showcase the landmark works of French architectural heritage alongside contemporary international creation.

Housed in the "Paris wing" (or north-east wing) of the Palais de Chaillot, on place du Trocadéro-et-du-11-novembre, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, close to the Trocadéro and Iéna metro stations, the Cité de l'architecture, with its 22,000 m² floor area, is the largest architecture centre in the world.

The current Cité was inaugurated on 19 September 2007 and brings together the Musée des monuments français, the École de Chaillot, the Jean-Louis Cohen contemporary architecture library, and the contemporary architecture archive centre.
