About — The venue
The Villa Cavrois is a modern villa located in Croix, in the Nord department, Hauts-de-France region. It was commissioned by the Roubaix textile industrialist Paul Cavrois from the Franco-Belgian architect Robert Mallet-Stevens, a leading figure of the modern movement. Designed from 1929, it was inaugurated during a family wedding three years later, in 1932. The house, a true modern castle, was intended to serve as the main residence for the large Cavrois family.
Located in the heart of a vast plot, the villa was conceived as a coherent whole, combining architecture, design, and landscaping, making it a true total work of art. It has been classified as a historical monument since 12 December 1990.
