Overview
Presented by CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES SPECTACLES. The Orchestre de l'Opéra royal de Versailles offers the Gaveau audience the complete Concertos Brandebourgeois by Father Bach.
Performing all six concertos in one evening is no small undertaking: each of these six pieces is unique in its atmosphere, its scoring and its influences.
Different as they are, they were brought together by the composer himself to be offered to the margrave Christian Ludwig von Brandenburg.
They offer a valuable testimony to the innovative ferment of the period, and themselves embody the impossibility of defining the "style of Bach", let alone the "Baroque".
