This programme, introduced by the overture to Così fan Tutte, illustrates a turning point in musical history. Should we hear the end of a world in Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, he who as a young boy jumped onto the laps of Louis XV's daughters or, even younger, kissed Marie-Antoinette, promising to marry her later? Do we see in Beethoven's art the work of a free artist who, from his first two symphonies, announces the musical revolutions of those that followed? It is also possible to hear a Beethoven who respectfully transmits Haydn's legacy… and a visionary Mozart.
