Ballet Bar brings together five hip-hop virtuosos who, in a world close to New York jazz clubs, use their dance to question their relationship with music as a source of inspiration and poetry.

Fighting over which vinyl to play, in a musical atmosphere ranging from jazz to classical, via electro, the dancers make the bar counter dance, the coat racks waltz, and take us on a journey through the crackling sound of an old transistor radio.

Dance, acrobatics and mime intermingle, with humour and self-mockery. By drawing their dance from other disciplines, these performers offer a genuinely warm, funny, generous and energetic show. "It's our escape from all this ambient noise.

Sometimes gentle, sometimes raw, harmonious or jerky, it turns us into puppets reacting to its every call. " "Aesthetically striking and effective staging" — Ouest France
