Behind the irony of the title, C’est si simple l’amour dissects with formidable precision the flaws in relationships and friendships. Hedda, an actress on the sidelines, and Jonas, a psychologist, join their hosts for an seemingly ordinary evening. But very quickly, exchanges become strained, unspoken words erupt, and reproaches fly. The dialogues become sharp, the tension rises, inexorably. Under the pen of Lars Norén, this closed-door drama descends into a dizzying spiral. And yet, at the very heart of the violence of the confrontations, an unexpected, almost salvific humour emerges, making the drama waver and releasing laughter. Practical information:
