Clash Chanson Française - De Lully à Johnny

Douce France, cocorico! France is a millennia-old heritage, a land that cultivates masterpieces with genius, beauty, irony and panache. A country at the summit of the arts, which has made language, style and emotion an art of living as much as an art of creating. From Lully to Johnny, this Clash chanson pays tribute to that France which sings and enchants.

From the splendours of the court of Louis XIV to popular refrains, the programme sets classical repertoire in dialogue with songs from the French pantheon, all in one language of fire and emotion. From Jean-Baptiste Lully, Jean-Philippe Rameau or Claude Debussy to Jacques Brel, Édith Piaf, Serge Gainsbourg, Johnny Hallyday or Orelsan, this concert brings to life a living and insolent musical pantheon.

Carried by Christian Olivier, founder of Têtes Raides, a major artist at the crossroads of chanson, theatre and poetry, the show takes on an embodied and free dimension. It imposes a singular writing and an intense stage presence, somewhere between spoken and sung word. He is accompanied by a band of musicians from the classical and rock worlds, in a bold musical dialogue.
