NEW SHOW « DÉLICIEUX  »

I nearly called this show « Le plaisir  » ("Pleasure"). Then I thought that the only pleasures people would think of with a title like that would be the ones forbidden to under-18s. Yet, for financial reasons, I want under-18s to be able to attend my show too. So I called it « Délicieux  » ("Delicious"): it is a family show. Over an hour and a quarter, I will try to untangle the complexity of what brings pleasure to human beings.

Of course, pleasure can come from a glass of Chasselas that you make last on the lakeside in spring. But it can also be brought on by the death of someone you don't like. Of course, an unexpected promotion at work brings joy. But so does eating gruyère in Gruyères, or knowing - when you are French - that you don't pronounce the « z  » in Étivaz (which lets us delightedly correct all the fools who get it wrong).

My aim is for this show to give you a certain pleasure, in a mise en abyme as delicious as eating gruyère in Gruyères.
