Faced with the racism, sexism, and homophobia she may experience, Dena manages to transform these painful events into positive experiences thanks to her resilience and humour. She thus succeeds in converting hurtful phrases into iconic punchlines.

Being lesbian and Iranian is still as subversive in our society. Yet, Dena today, more than ever, makes it her greatest strength. If, in her first show “Dena, Princesse Guerrière”, she waged a war for freedom, in “Las Vegas”, the comedian leads a pacifist quest.

Through intelligent and precise sleight of hand as well as nuanced observations, Dena convinces even her antagonists that they have more in common with her than ignorance might suggest.
