Overview
Looking For Trouble is a one-man show by Dylan Moran, the Irish comedian and actor known in particular for his role in the series Black Books. The show falls within the black comedy genre: starting from a simple question, whether to get out of bed to go to work, the comedian unspools a series of polished one-liners on the contradictions of modern life.
The tone is cynical by choice. The text multiplies false trails, such as spectacular career changes, whether becoming a kickboxing or chess champion, and reflections on the economy or on the excesses of everyday consumption. Short punchlines follow one another on the stage of a theatre.
Running for 90 minutes, the production is carried by Dylan Moran alone on stage, who is also its writer and director. It is aimed at audiences who enjoy sharp, verbal humour, centred on the spoken word rather than on staging.
