Elie Semoun - Cactus - Tournée

You don't need to look far to grasp the tone of CACTUS! By giving this name to his new show, Elie Semoun makes his intentions clear: it's going to sting!

For 30 years, the comedian has established himself as one of the most incisive and deliciously off-kilter comics on the French scene. His style, which blends subtlety and daring, has inspired many generations of artists.

For his eighth show, Elie Semoun makes a slight shift: stand-up now takes a more prominent place, something new for him. But don't be mistaken, CACTUS remains faithful to his fondness for characters.

Among the gallery of his new monsters, you'll meet Jean Abdul, who will open the show, a son taking his father to visit a care home for the elderly, Xavier, a man with motor disabilities who introduces his wife to his mother, a father confronted with his son's transition, a karate instructor who is racist, or even a biting look at sexual harassment and religion.

With CACTUS, Elie Semoun offers us a vision that is both profound and light-hearted of our society, somewhere between violence and inspiration, where themes of intolerance, taboo and injustice are tackled without pretence, yet always with that incisive touch that characterises him.
