Élie Semhoun, known as Élie Semoun, is a French comedian, actor, director, screenwriter, and singer, born on October 16, 1963, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

He first gained recognition in 1992 with Dieudonné, forming the successful comedy duo Élie et Dieudonné. After the duo disbanded, he pursued a solo career, both on stage and screen.

Following numerous appearances in popular comedies – including Les Trois Frères (1995) and Neuilly sa mère ! (2009) – he aimed to become a leading actor. He achieved this with the Ducobu film series (2011-2026).

Also a voice actor, he lent his voice to the character of Sid the sloth for the French version of the American animated franchise L'Âge de glace (Ice Age) (2002-2022). Since 2014, he has voiced the legionary Cubitus in the Astérix animated films written and directed by Alexandre Astier.

Furthermore, he has released three albums as a songwriter and singer.
