Don't miss this new encounter with the most audacious of Spanish choreographers! Each of Rocio Molina's creations promises a delicious cocktail of surprise and passion. This time, the iconoclastic artist rewinds flamenco to its very base: those characteristic foot strikes from which her dance takes flight. In flamenco language, the rhythm produced by the performer's heels tapping on the ground is called zapateado. This characteristic pulsation has accompanied Rocio Molina since the age of seven. Every day, like a musician practising scales on her instrument, she tirelessly trains her feet in the fundamentals of her art. What for others would be a simple warm-up has also become for her the subject of choreographic research. To set the body in motion is already to begin to create. It is also, beyond the pain caused by the repetition of gestures, to feel alive and to be part of a constantly renewed present "to see who we are". Encender el cuerpo thus returns to the very essence of her creation, a source that had already fuelled Calentamiento, the choreographer's previous opus. In this dizzying solo, a punctual dialogue is invited with her accomplice and "rhythm partner" of fifteen years, the dancer José Manuel Ramos Oruco, without breaking the sacred fire that ignites the dancer's body. Hence the title of this piece, burning with intensity.
