Overview

Produced by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the support of the City of Paris, part of the exhibition "Witnesses of Climate Realities: Migration as Adaptation" will be presented at the Bibliothèque Arthur Rimbaud from 29 September to 31 October.

Through a selection of photographs from its collection, IOM offers a variety of perspectives from different regions around the world.

These images document the challenges faced by populations confronted with environmental upheavals and highlight migration as an adaptation strategy.

From droughts and floods in East Africa to hurricanes in the Caribbean, the photographs bear witness to territories exposed to extreme climate shocks.

They also reflect more gradual phenomena, such as coastal erosion in Bangladesh or particularly harsh winters in Mongolia, which permanently undermine living conditions and livelihoods.

By revealing a daily life marked by precariousness, food insecurity, and environmental degradation, these photographs also bear witness to communities' capacity to adapt in the face of these upheavals.

Join us from 29 September to 31 October at the Bibliothèque Arthur Rimbaud to discover this exhibition. Free entry during the library's opening hours. All audiences.
