Festival Monte le Son : Concert de Paris Banlieue

For this new edition of the Monte le Son festival, libraries celebrate female musicians! On this occasion, the Médiathèque Françoise Sagan welcomes the pop group Paris Banlieue, who will present Dans des lieux, a poetic and mischievous album recently released by Cartelle.

Paris Banlieue was originally a French-Spanish trio (three voices, keyboard, guitar, hand percussion, and trumpet) performing poetic and humorous songs in an acoustic pop-rock-punk style, drawing from all verbal and musical registers.

A first album, Gueuseries (April 2020, released by Langue Pendue on cassette and Snap! Clap! Club on vinyl) was recorded by Sylvain Quément (from the Radio Minus project) in live takes over an afternoon in an apartment.

This record was embraced by fans of the most lo-fi-underground French music (reviews by JD Beauvallet, Olivier Lamm…), and also received international attention (Monorail in Glasgow, Big Love in Tokyo…).

The three members, Clara and Leonor Pernas and Adèle Duhoo, continued for 5 years, intermittently with their schooling and then their studies, to write songs, developing new structures, adding instruments in arrangements inspired by those of The Beatles and The Kinks, varying styles as much as possible (their inspirations ranging from rockabilly to folk and reggaeton, as well as jazz and electronic pop), and introducing other languages such as English and Spanish, to build a new album, Dans des lieux (December 2025, released by Langue Pendue, Snap!

Clap! Club, and Cartelle).

Alternating between takes (always live) made by Sylvain and those made by the members themselves, sometimes on the phone, the album is meticulously structured into different stories and sub-parts, and stages the tension between the group's great spontaneity and its efforts at structure and contrast.

Overall, it evokes the idea of displacement between places, echoing the group's name (Paris Banlieue) and the context of separation (Paris/Madrid) in which it was written.

Since September 2025, the group often plays with two other members, on drums and bass, Gabriel Zygel and Oscar Taillardat, and performs very regularly on stage (2026: Paris, Montreui
