Overview
A space for reflection and freedom for Romantic composers such as Schumann, an object of fascination and formal revelation for modernists such as Ravel, or the place where the real and the spiritual converge for a metaphysical composer such as Messiaen… The forest uplifts, dazzles, inspires and transcends, even as its immense fragility asks us each day to listen to it more closely. From the sad birdsong captured by Ravel's ear to the omen concerning our ecological concerns embodied in the colourful music of Takemitsu, Jean-François Heisser takes us on a sensitive exploration of our bond with nature. He weaves his path together with contemporary paintings that, for the duration of the concert, strengthen the physical link between the listener and their own inner forest.
