Airelle Besson & Lionel Suarez

The gentle sound of Airelle Besson's trumpet plays off the delicate spirit of Lionel Suarez's accordion, in effervescent jazz flights and spirited improvisations.

Between the trumpeter, who has established herself as a singular voice in French jazz and was recently named Best Instrumental Artist of the Year at the Victoires du Jazz 2026, and the accordionist, who was sponsored early in his career by Claude Nougaro and is accustomed to providing the counter-melody for personalities of the calibre of Jean Rochefort or André Minvielle, their exchanges are attentive, tender and passionate.

For a decade now they have patiently nurtured their friendship through a long-running musical conversation, and they still have just as much to tell each other and to tell us.

It takes the time needed to blossom into the very recent "Blossom", a fascinating album that bears witness to this exchange, which will never come to an end.
