L'Illusion Comique - Tournée

A brilliant and daring reinterpretation of Corneille, in which theatre and cinema intertwine in a whirl of illusions, carried by inventive staging and an electrifying company.

Frédéric Cherbœuf and the Collectif L'Émeute have created an adaptation that is as inventive as it is jubilant, based on Corneille's masterpiece. The story follows Pridamant, a desperate father, who asks the magician Alcandre to reveal what has become of his missing son.

Through a series of visions, he discovers Clindor's turbulent journey, made of love, lies and danger, leading to an ending that is as surprising as it is unsettling.

Balancing faithfulness to the classic text with visual boldness, the show plunges the audience into a world where theatre engages in dialogue with cinema. The staging transforms Alcandre's cave into a film studio, mixing projections, visual effects and live performance.

The company, energetic and precise, handles the diction of the alexandrines as skilfully as physical acting. This adaptation of L'Illusion comique does justice to Corneille's language.

The whole is carried by a lively and accessible production, offering a moment that is both intelligent and delightful. Suitable from 13 years old. Duration: 1h30. 55
