La Jalousie

LA JALOUSIE Following its success with both critics and audiences, La Jalousie makes its grand return to the Théâtre de la Michodière! Nominated for the Molières 2026 in the “Best Comedy” category. A respectable civil servant returns home, having just cheated on his wife, and seeks every possible excuse to explain his lateness… It is then that he realises his wife herself has not yet returned! Caught in his own trap, he is then overwhelmed by an uncontrolled fit of jealousy, dragging him into a dazzling and ludicrous obsessive delirium. This deliciously cruel text explores with panache, in the tradition of boulevard theatre, the torments of self-esteem and the mechanisms of jealousy… Between finely crafted dialogues, burlesque paranoia, and exhilarating twists, Guitry revels in hypocrisy and bad faith, offering the audience a satire as funny as it is biting. “La Jalousie”, brought to life by an elegant staging from Michel Fau, flamboyant costumes and sets, thus pays homage to this iconic figure of French theatre.
