La Jalousie

LA JALOUSIE Following the play's success with both critics and audiences, La Jalousie returns in triumph to the Théâtre de la Michodière! Nominated for the 2026 Molières in the “Best Comedy” category. A respectable civil servant comes home.

He has just been unfaithful to his wife and searches for every possible excuse to explain his lateness… It is then that he realises his wife has not yet come home either!

Caught in his own trap, he is swept up in an uncontrollable fit of jealousy, which plunges him into a sudden and absurd obsessive delirium.

This deliciously cruel text explores, with flair and in the tradition of boulevard theatre, the torments of vanity and the mechanisms of jealousy… Between sharp dialogue, burlesque paranoia and jubilant reversals, Guitry amuses himself with hypocrisy and bad faith, offering the audience a satire that is as funny as it is biting.

“La Jalousie”, carried by an elegant production directed by Michel Fau, with flamboyant costumes and sets, thus pays tribute to this iconic figure of French theatre. To (re)discover from 5 November 2026 at the Théâtre de la Michodière!
