La Petite Tuk

[YOUNG AUDIENCE] Joachim Latarjet and Alexandra Fleischer adapt Le Petit Tuk, a Hans Christian Andersen tale that raises universal questions about childhood and individual development. They transform the hero into a heroine of the 2020s.

Because her mother is forced to work at night, Petite Tuk takes on many (too many) responsibilities at home: she does the shopping, prepares meals, and looks after her little sister. Exhausted, she often falls asleep everywhere, even in class, where she finds herself isolated.

In her dreams, her father, a musician who has been on tour for years, teaches her that singing is a powerful means of expression. Through these dreamlike encounters, her imagination unfolds and her uniqueness becomes a strength.

This social tale is a musical play for which Joachim Latarjet composed the score, performing it live, notably on trombone and guitar. The humour, delicacy, and poetry of the characters are brought to life by three performers, who sing and play all the roles.

In a space brought to life by video projections that create the house, the school, and the path on which Tuk begins to dream, one is captivated by this story where imagination opens up new horizons.
