La Vie Est Une Fête

Following their first Molière Award - Best Public Theatre Show - won in 2026 for I Will Survive, Les Chiens de Navarre are bringing back La vie est une fête, highly acclaimed on tour and in Paris since its creation in 2022, for a special series of 30 dates at the Théâtre de l’Atelier.

Les Chiens de Navarre continue their exploration of reality into a whole new territory: psychiatric emergencies.

Raw, biting, and imbued with a wild tenderness, La vie est une fête draws us into a contemporary world in disequilibrium, where we waver as much as we laugh, and from which we do not emerge unscathed.

We are inevitably porous to violence, crises, political and social inconsistencies, and the brutal transformations of our civilisation. The micro-madnesses of our century can engender the macro-madnesses of an individual, and the need for consolation can quickly become insatiable, as our good old Dagerman would say. Can we all go mad? What stops us from acting out? There is nothing more human than madness. The psychiatric emergency department is one of the rare places to receive anyone at any time without exception of age, sex, or country. An extremely palpable place of life for a breakdown. A human airlock.”
