A revelation and a favourite at the Festival d’Avignon off 2025, Derrière by Nicolas Chaigneau and Claire Laureau opens our 26-27 season.

After Les Galets au Tilleul (…), Derrière is the second part of the diptych Le Vide.
While these two shows are distinct in form, the main objective is the same: to work from seemingly uninteresting situations, and to try to extract, with humour and meticulousness, their share of sensitivity, absurdity, and poetry. With a multitude of makeshift solutions, and relying on the spectator's capacity for imagination, Derrière mischievously attempts to make a show captivating despite its continuous failures, and to sublimate the very relative tragedy of this failure.
