Le Comte de Monte — Cristo en Ciné — Concert

The event film that has won over more than 13 million spectators worldwide returns in a new cine-concert version with a symphonic orchestra, on a tour that will take it to Paris, Lille and Lyon in April 2027. On this occasion, the film will be screened in its extended version, with 10 minutes of exclusive sequences. For more than 3 hours, the 80 musicians of the Yellow Socks Orchestra will perform the famous original soundtrack live, in perfect synchronisation with the projection of the film on a big screen. Conceived as an opera, the symphonic score by Jérôme Rebotier, under the artistic direction and executive production of Pierre-Marie Dru (Pigalle Production), accompanies the hero, played brilliantly by Pierre Niney, from beginning to end in his quest for revenge. The turning point in Dantès's fate, The Treasure, the fortune that will allow him to become The Count of Monte Cristo and finance his relentless punishment, also becomes the film's main musical theme. A haunting melodic motif, drawn from the opening notes of the love theme between Edmond and Mercédès, returns again and again like a memory one cannot shake off. The masterful adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's work by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière, presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024 and winner of three César awards, including the Students' César, reappears in a new form, elevated by the power and emotion of the symphonic orchestra.

Synopsis

Victim of a plot, the young Edmond Dantès is arrested on his wedding day for a crime he did not commit. After fourteen years of imprisonment in the Château d'If, he manages to escape. Having become immensely rich, he returns under the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo to take revenge on the three men who betrayed him.
