Overview
Francesco Geminiani is an almost legendary figure of the Baroque period. A formidable violinist, he was a pupil of Alessandro Scarlatti and Arcangelo Corelli. His name was then mentioned in the same breath as those of Vivaldi and Handel. Julien Chauvin and Le Concert de la Loge invite us to rediscover this unjustly neglected composer. Alongside La Foresta incantata, which Geminiani composed in 1754 to accompany a pantomime at the Palais des Tuileries, the programme of this concert offers us superb arias and duets from the operas of his two great contemporaries, Handel and Vivaldi. The virtuosos of Le Concert de la Loge will quite literally carry two dazzling voices, those of Julie Roset and Adèle Charvet.
