The Song of the Basses

Thirty years ago, Bruno Cocset founded his ensemble Les Basses Réunies, a name that could not be more fitting. A cellist much in demand with the greatest ensembles, he set out to deepen our knowledge of his instrument, which has undergone countless transformations over the centuries. At the same time, Bruno Cocset led us on a fascinating exploration of an immense repertoire that is by no means limited to the music, admittedly brilliant, of Bach or Vivaldi. Over the years, Les Basses Réunies have brought together exceptional virtuosos, who will contribute to this great evening at the Salle Cortot. The painter Bertrand Bouin adds a visual dimension that, in truth, has never left the thoughts of Bruno Cocset. There will be distinguished mystery guests whose names, of course, cannot be revealed.
