Evening dresses, wedding dresses, nightdresses, everyday dresses, ball gowns. Sequinned, long, puffy, fitted, oversized. Dresses that fly, shimmer, tear, twirl, trail or fall.

Empire-line dresses, boned dresses, dresses that waltz to Leonard Cohen, or dresses that weep, badly sewn, light, unstructured, tied at the waist. And then solitary dresses, rebellious, playful, set against electronic bass. On stage, five performers wear these dresses.

Five who sweat because they are alive. The choreographer reveals and clothes — in every sense of the word — the fragilities, the rebellions and the many identities carried by five female performers and forty dresses, in an attempt to explore femininity.

This magnificent show was nominated for the 2025 Rose Prize at Sadler's Wells in London.
