Ten years after 2666, Julien Gosselin once again delves into the work of Roberto Bolaño – accompanied, this time, by the spectre of Maldoror, an allegory of an evil standing between men and gods, emerged from the songs of the young Lautréamont. From this abundant literature, Julien Gosselin composes a theatre-world where eras, languages, and continents intertwine. From the Uruguay where Lautréamont grew up to Pinochet's Chile, from the Paris of the cursed poets to the nights of Mexico City, from the literary circles of Santiago to the writers' rooms of Barcelona, the audience navigates between the confines of Latin America and Europe to better unearth the zones where art and evil walk side by side. Between the poems, blood. Beneath the stage, mud. Maldoror plunges the spectator into the dangerous abysses of writing, there, on the border of beauty and darkness, where theatre meets its cursed part. Director: Julien Gosselin
